Order three weeks ahead
Place your main order about three weeks before mid-April. Gurdwara and community events order early and in bulk, so confirm their quantities first and stock retail around them.
What each community buys
- Vaisakhi (Punjabi) — atta and ghee for langar and home cooking, chole and rajma staples, lassi and dahi, and Punjabi sweets like pinni and boondi ladoo (ARF, Nanak).
- Pohela Boishakh (Bengali) — Bengali sweets such as rasgulla, cham cham and raskatta, rice, and mustard oil.
- Puthandu (Tamil) — rice, jaggery, raw mango for maanga pachadi, and South Indian ready meals for the holiday table.
Display and pricing
Set up one “New Year sweets” table with Punjabi, Bengali and South Indian sweets side by side, and keep bulk boxes and trays visible for families buying for gatherings. Price sweets in simple tiers (small box, family box, party tray) rather than by weight.
The short version
