Coordinate with gurdwaras early
Gurpurab falls in November, a couple of weeks after Diwali. Langar committees plan quantities in advance, so reach out three to four weeks ahead and schedule delivery for the days before the celebration.
The langar checklist
- Atta — the largest single item, for thousands of rotis. Ask our team for bulk-bag pricing.
- Dal and legumes — urad (maa di dal), chana dal, rajma and chole.
- Ghee, sugar and atta — for karah prasad, prepared in large quantities (Pura Faith sugars, bulk ghee).
- Rice, oil, spices and dahi — for kheer, rice and raita.
- Sweets — pinni, boondi ladoo and moong dal halwa (Nanak, ARF) for families and smaller gatherings.
Retail shoppers
Families also cook at home and visit gurdwaras across the weekend. Keep atta, ghee and dal in stock at retail, and put Punjabi sweets on a front display the week of Gurpurab.
The short version
Contact gurdwaras 3–4 weeks ahead, supply atta, dal, ghee and sugar in bulk for langar and karah prasad, and keep retail staples and Punjabi sweets ready for families. Our team can tell you exactly what is available for your route this season.
